PET OF THE WEEK

PET OF THE WEEK FEBRUARY 14, 2012

Meet Sammy!

I am an amazing dog! I have been away from the Shelter for awhile as a very kind lady fostered me for awhile to check me out and help to make me more adoptable. I am a small female, long haired mixed breed. I am house broken, leash trained with a harness (my foster guardian’s 2 yr. old could even walk me I’m so gentle), fine around other dogs and cats, and no food aggression. I am the perfect house dog for you! I do have a limp in my front leg from a previous injury but it does not deter me from having a normal life. I run, jump, climb and show no signs of pain. I’m just a very laid back and loving dog who needs a family to love. It’s Valentine’s week….won’t you let me be your Valentine?

The shelter also has several really nice cats needing homes. Any of our animals can be seen at the Shelter Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Sundays, Mondays, and all holidays. Tommy Boy!

Hey Guys! Finally it is my turn to be Pet of the Week! I have been at the Shelter since December 1 when Brookfield’s ACO picked me up. No one has come looking for me and I’m real tired of this place. I think I might be wearing out my welcome if you know what I mean. I am a male mixed breed….possibly some Akita somewhere in me. I am about a year old. I’m full of lots of energy but I’m really nice and playful. I really need to get out of here so if you could find a place in your heart and home for me….that would be awesome!

Sweet, Sweet Boy!

I am a young (approx. 1 year) Fox Terrier mix that was found in Laclede. Everyone at the Shelter loves me as I am sooooo sweet and loving. My favorite thing to do is to sit in your lap and here at the Shelter that isn’t happening too often. I am housebroken, get along fine with cats and other dogs, and I’ve learned to walk on a leash. I just need a forever home with a warm lap to sit on and I will be happy forever.

The shelter also has several really nice cats and three litters of puppies (Chihuahua, Lab/Husky/Cocker mix, and Lab/Chow mix) needing homes.

PET OF THE WEEK JANUARY 24, 2012

Awesome Dog! I am a male black Lab that showed up at a really nice lady’s home in Marceline. I am young…maybe a year old and just delightful. The nice lady that found me really liked me but she had cats and I don’t get along with cats very well. I am extremely playful and loving. The Shelter has named me Roscoe but you can name me anything you want. All I want is a nice home with a family that will love me. I promise to love you back!

Whoopee! Boy am I full of energy! I am a 17 mos. old Border Collie whose been living with a very nice lady who lost her job and had to move back to the city and an apartment. PET OF THE WEEK JANUARY 11, 2012

Sweet Buddy! Oh my….I’m in trouble. I’ve been at the Shelter since Oct. and they tell me that if I don’t get adopted soon….well, you know what that means. I was found and brought to the Shelter. I am a male…possibly a Shepherd/Lab mix. I am brown brindle and I hardly ever bark. I have a very sweet, gentle nature but I am also timid and untrusting at this point. I don’t think I came from a very good place. I also walk on a leash, get along with other dogs and even like cats. I have a great personality and I let it show when I know I can trust you. Right now I am the Shelter favorite but there does come a time when I will wear out my welcome. So I need your help….NOW.

Sweet Little Girl!

Hello friends…..I am a female mix and I am 5 mos. old. When I’m full grown, I should be around 25 lbs. or smaller so I am the perfect size to live in your house with you. I am really sweet and I like other dogs and even cats. Did I mention that I really like kids? I’m here at the Shelter because my previous owners had too many dogs so they gave me up. That makes me very sad but I know there’s someone out there who will love me even better and I’m waiting for you to come and get me.

The Shelter also has Pippa…a 2 yr. old black, female, spayed cat that’s been here since October. She is exceptionally sweet and needs a new home NOW! We also have two male Walker Coonhounds that are approximately 2 yrs. old and very nice. Just A Little Tyke!

... Hey everyone! I’m a neutered male Chihuahua that was released to the Shelter by my owner. Don’t know why…I’m just here and looking for a new forever home. I am approximately 1 year old and I love to be held and to sit on your lap. I am a little shy….especially around men so be patient with me. I would love to find a new home in time for Christmas. I don’t think Santa comes to the Shelter.

PET OF THE WEEK NOVEMBER 29, 2011

Mr. Gorgeous!

... I am a 6 or 7 year old male Golden Retriever that was found near Brookfield off of Hwy 11 south. I was covered with burrs and I think I’m lost. No one has come looking for me so I am looking for a new forever home. I have a very light face that makes you think that I am old but the Shelter says I’m not because my teeth are in excellent shape. I sit on command and I am leash trained. Everyone at the Shelter says that I am really sweet and loving. I don’t jump up on people which they tell me is a good thing. Anyway….here I am at the Shelter waiting for someone to come and take me home. I hope you come soon….
