The Board of Directors of the Linn County Humane Society met Monday, January 8, 2007, at the office of Andrea Vandeloecht in Brookfield, Missouri

Directors present: Peter Janis, Jim Montgomery, Karmen Robertson, Ginny McMains, Andrea Vandeloecht, and Jim Arnold.

Directors absent: Steve Roberts, Wendy Walton


Also present was Eleanor Ravens, past board president

President Andrea Vandeloecht presided over the business meeting.

MINUTES: Minutes of the December 4, 2006 meeting were distributed and approved as presented.

TREASURERS REPORT: Janet Daniels presented Dec, 2006 and YTD 2006 reports. We have a positive balance at this time.

SPAY/NEUTER REPORT: Spay/Neuter Report presented by Peter Janis. All stats for Oct., Nov., and Dec. were not in so YTD total not final, however, the numbers unofficially improve over 2006.

SHELTER REPORT:

OLD BUSINESS: Valentine's Luncheon will be on Sunday, February 11, 2007 at the Marceline Masonic Lodge. Masons will prepare the meal. Volunteers will be needed to serve and provide desserts. Members to bring cake or pie or cookies. Donations for side dishes will be sought.
The meat sale will be held March 23, 2007 at the Marceline United Methodist Church. Shredded beef, pork and Ribs will be offered. Buns will be included with shredded meat, but not made into sandwiches. Strictly pick up and go.The Board decided to finish the puppy room this month if possible. Joe Enyert will supply volunteer labor as community service.

NEW BUSINES: Discussion of possible changes in charges due to costs associated with cats. No decision reached. Ginny McMains brought a list of 12 or 13 points concerning operations at the shelter. These were discussed and recommendations made to the appropriate persons for implementation

Directors present: Peter Janis, Jim Montgomery, Andrea Vandeloecht, Jim Arnold, Steve Roberts and Wendy Walton.

Directors absent:Karmen Robertson, Ginny McMains

President Andrea Vandeloecht presided over the business meeting.

MINUTES: Minutes of the January 8th meeting were distributed and corrected. After correction, the minutes were approved.

TREASURERS REPORT: Finances stable at this time.

SPAY/NEUTER REPORT:TOTAL YTD for 2006: Dogs, 211 - Cats, 258 - Total, 469

COMMITTEE REPORTS: Puppy room is coming along. Wall framing in and sheet rock is mostly up.

OLD BUSINESS: Meat Sale will be held March 23, 2007. In Brookfield it will be at the Christian Church and in Marceline at the Methodist Church. We will offer shredded pork and beef in 1lb containers accompanied by sandwich buns. Ribs will be offered hot or cold in one half or whole slabs. To guarantee getting BBQ, pre-order either at Magnolia Antiques in Marceline or Devoy-Baker Insurance in Brookfield. Any BBQ not pre-ordered will be sold at the door until it is gone.

The Board of Directors of the Linn County Humane Society met Monday, MARCH 5, 2007 at the office of Andrea Vandeloecht in Brookfield, Missouri

Directors present: Ginny McMains, Jim Montgomery, Andrea Vandeloecht, and Wendy Walton.

Directors absent:Karmen Robertson, Jim Arnold, Steve Roberts, and Peter Janis Ginny McMains



Also present was Eleanor Ravens, past board president

President Andrea Vandeloecht presided over the business meeting.

Also present were Janna Smith and Cindy Smith representing the city of Laclede. Cindy Smith is the city clerk of Laclede and Janna Smith is on the city council in Laclede.

MINUTES: Minutes of the February 5th meeting were distributed and corrected. After correction, the minutes were approved.

TREASURERS REPORT: Finances stable at this time. Approximately $400.00 received in memorials for Leonore Innis (Grandmother of Andrea Vandeloecht and Mother of Elenore Ravens )

SPAY/NEUTER REPORT:None presented at this meeting.

COMMITTEE REPORTS: Pictures of new facilities posted on website.
Ginny reported that of the litter of 12 lab mix puppies dropped off recently in the drop-off pen, seven were still at the shelter. Ginny indicated that she planned to take three of the pups to Waverly. That will still leave us with four. Currently, our runs are full.
Andrea reported that we planned to have a spring cleaning day at the shelter on Saturday, April 21. All board members are asked to help, bring rags, paper towels, etc.
We will sell the gas dryer donated by Don Walsworth and purchase an electric one, since we do not have gas service.
Also, the shelter is in need of pallets and blankets for the puppy room. Andrea will contact Walsworth Publishing Company to see if they have pallets they will give to us.
Andrea reported that we may have to have new keys made for the shelter. Apparently, someone is going into the shelter and letting dogs out of the cages. They leave a mess in the front for employees to clean up.
Andrea asked if we would like to continue with dog training classes. This discussion was tabled until the next meeting.

OLD BUSINESS: Board members were reminded that the meat sale would be held Friday, March 23rd. Hours will be 11:00am to 6:00pm. In Brookfield the meat will be sold at the Christian Church. In Marceline the meat will be sold at the United Methodist Church. We are selling meat only, Barbeque beef, pork, and ribgs. Kings in Marceline is preparing the meat.

NEW BUSINES: The next meeting will be held Monday, March 5th. This meeting will be in conjunction with our Annual Meeting. Board members going off the board are Wendy Walton and Peter Janis. Peter is eligible to re-up for another term. Wendy will go off. It was decided to have a snack dinner with an animal theme.

Directors present: Peter Janis, Karmen Robertson, Jim Montgomery, Andrea Vandeloecht, Jim Arnold, Steve Roberts and Wendy Walton.

Directors absent: Ginny McMains



Also present was Eleanor Ravens, past board president

President Andrea Vandeloecht presided over the business meeting.

Also present were Darrin Fravel and Jim Lowe from Wheeling. They inquired into the possibility of bringing animals to our shelter since the Livingstone County Shelter only accepts animals from Chillicothe. Occaisonal overpopulation problems at our shelter will keep Linn County HS from reaching an accommodation with them.

TREASURERS REPORT: All bills paid and a positive balance in the account.

SPAY/NEUTER REPORT:TOTAL YTD for 2007: Dogs, 29 - Cats, 69 - Total, 98

SHELTER REPORTS: We will limit our population to 2 nursing mothers and total of 12 puppies.
Meat sale two weeks ago was very successful. We will have another maybe in June.
Clean Up Day will be April 21st. Men are needed to prepare the new drop-off pad for concrete.
Purina Pet Adoption mentioned. Tabled for a month for further research.


OLD BUSINESS: Two new large capacity dryers have been purchased and installed. They really help with laundry. One was donated by Bill and Janet Daniels and the other purchased with Memorial Funds in memory of Leonore Innis.
Several possible new board members were listed and will be contacted to find if they would be willling to serve.

TREASURERS REPORT: All bills paid and a positive balance in the account.

SPAY/NEUTER REPORT:TOTAL YTD for 2007: Dogs, 71 - Cats, 136 - Total, 207

SHELTER REPORTS: Results of Volunteer Day cleanup reported. Ag Department inspector came
the week following our volunteeer day and we had a good report. He did recommend we use a
degreaser when cleaning the kennels and we had some paper work to be caught up.
Nycole is checking into degreaser and Jerry has brought all paper work up to date.
We are going to have a meat sale again in June, sold by pound, cold. Further details later.
Puppy pens will be obtained in next few days..a week. Donated. Purina food not contaminated.
Membership/fundraising: Letters in paper, T-shirts.
OLD BUSINESS: Board members to fill existing vacancies.
Several possible new board members were listed and will be contacted to find if they would be willling to serve.

NEW BUSINES: Euthanasia policy discussed. Ginny will write it out and Andrea will email to
board members to vote electronically in next week.

SPAY/NEUTER REPORT: Presented by Peter Janis

SHELTER REPORTS: Discussion of using appropriate cleaning solutions for runs and parvo solution to kill parvo virus. Employment of Laura to fill need for another person. Providing boxes for persons adopting a cat to take the cat home in. These are folding cardboard one-time-use boxes. Cost is approximately $2.50 each.

NEW BUSINES: Jim Arnold reported that he has renewed website for another year. Also, need to find a new success story for website. We have used Sophie for 8-9 months and then Buddy for a like period of time.
